The Walk of Shame

Football is full of opinions, predictions and hot takes. Unfortunately, not all of them stand the test of time (anyone remember Rory Jennings’ 2022 assertion that “Erling Haaland will flop in the Premier League”?). So for the start of the 26/27 Premier League season, we teamed up with Betfair to inaugurate “The Walk of Shame”: A tongue-in-cheek installation designed to give some of football’s worst takes – and the fans, pundits, managers and players who made them – the recognition they deserve.

Installed outside Wembley stadium in London, the Hollywood-inspired walkway poked fun at everyone from Gary Neville to Graeme Souness. And to show that it was all in good fun, Premier League legend Alan Shearer and UK football creators Humzy and Rory Talks showed up to receive their own stars on The Walk of Shame – giving acceptance speeches, signing autographs and having more than a few laughs at their past predictions. Because when it comes to the beautiful game, everyone’s got an opinion… but only some are bad enough to earn their place in history.
